Ichung'wah Calls for Presidential Jet Replacement and Military Upgrades

Kenya's National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wa has made a compelling case for increased investment in the nation's military capabilities.
Highlighting the recent helicopter crash that tragically claimed the life of Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla and nine others, Ichung'wa emphasizes the importance of modernizing military equipment to ensure safety and prevent future accidents. During parliamentary budget discussions, Ichung'wa addressed criticisms directed at resource requests from the military. He argued that such critiques often stem from a lack of understanding regarding the critical role a well-equipped military plays in safeguarding national security and maintaining peace.
The Majority Leader specifically calls for the modernization of all military hardware including aircraft utilized by both the military and police forces. He further stresses the urgent need to replace the ageing Presidential Jet which has been in service since the late 1980s under President Daniel Moi's administration. Ichung'wa's proposal highlights the dedication of Kenyan military personnel who selflessly risk their lives to protect the nation from threats. The recent helicopter crash occurred near the border between Elgeyo Marakwet and Uasin Gishu counties, an area grappling with cattle rustling and banditry.
General Ogolla, at the helm of a peace mission in the troubled Rift Valley region, was among those who died. As the nation mourns this immense loss, Ichung'wa urges Parliament to remember the families left behind by these fallen heroes. A special session will be held on Wednesday to pay tribute to General Ogolla, while a motion sponsored by Lamu East MP Captain Ruweida Obo seeks to prioritize boarding rights for Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Special Forces personnel on domestic airlines. This initiative serves as a fitting recognition of the KDF's vital role in safeguarding Kenyan sovereignty.

Ishungua. there are more pressing issues that face Kenyans than replacing Ruto’s jet. What is wrong with the freaking jet? Ruto need to stay in Kenya tending to the country’s issues than joy riding flying over the place at the expense of the ordinary people. You are still lost and simply does not get it at all.

Pressing issues are and will always be there. In this case who would want to fly or ride one a death trap? And especially knowing very well that the the chances are 50/50? And that’s the pressing issue of the most importance. Every other issue is of course issues of emergencies as everyone would like addressed and as follow it sequence of importants. If that was your son put in an old chopper as it happened and knowing very well that it has a chance of a failure, would you not advocate for it as a pressing issue?

First of all my son would not board any of those half dead aircrafts because he knows better. Second, my son would make much better decisions and prioritize on where the scarce money needs to be spent to help the ordinary Kenyan Kenya. Let those who harp on planes use their money to fix the damn jets. Well and good if they come tumbling down like a deck of cards because whoever is caught in the fray is just good riddance.

Kids are going hungry in his own county!!
Doctors are on strike and people are dying!
Yet, his dear leader has a more pressing problem in need of a new jet!!
But then, Kenyans elect these clowns then go to church every Sunday and pray for “good leadership”.
Even God doesn’t take us seriously anymore!!
