ODM MPs Threaten to Swear in Raila Odinga
Two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament have threatened to swear in National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga as President.
The MPs said they would swear in the former Prime Minister should President Uhuru's Jubilee Party continue to ‘violate’ the law.
This comes after several Jubilee leaders plan to implement key changes to the constitution on the Judiciary and Elections Act.
In the push, Jubilee wants to cage the Supreme Court to make it almost impossible to overturn s presidential election and further remove some clauses of the Election laws.
MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) and Samuel Atandi (Alego Usonga) said that their Jubilee counterparts should focus on fixing the current high cost of living, instead of engaging in sideshows.
The ODM MPs vowed to block any ‘unconstitutional’ Bills brought to Parliament by Jubilee on Tuesday.
“The Jubilee administration has no business being in office if all they care about is their selfish interest. The crimes committed by Jubilee during the general election only qualify them as a gang of thieves and not a legitimate government,” Odhiambo said.
Atandi reiterated that the opposition will not delay to swear in Raila Odinga if Jubilee continues to violate the law.
“Raila will be sworn in as president because Jubilee is now defaced by the Supreme Court,” he said.
