Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Collymore has taken sick leave and will be away for “a number of months” receiving treatment,the company has announced.
“On behalf of the board, management and the entire Safaricom community, I wish Bob quick recovery and look forward to him resuming his duties as soon as doctors allow him to do so,” Safaricom Chairman Nicholas Ng’ang’a said in a statement.
Ng’ang’a in a statement said Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Sateesh Kamath will hold the role of CEO while Collymore is away. He will be supported by Joseph Ogutu who is the current director – strategy and innovation, Safaricom,” added Ng’ang’a.
No details were provided on Collymore’s aliment.
