In its report, Brighter Monday ranked the top 100 best companies to work for in the country. Safaricom was rated the best ahead of multinationals such as Google and CocaCola.
United Nations, Kengen, Google and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) occupied the top five best firms to work for. Centum Investments, Kenya Power and Price Water Coopers took position six, seven and eight, while Unilever and CocaCola closed the top ten list.
Brighter Monday used attributes that matter most to workers including; pride, culture, career growth, diversity, inclusion as well as remuneration to rank the companies.
The survey interviewed more than 800,000 employees from Brighter Monday's database and analyzed feedback from current and former employees of the firms listed.
“Respondents were expected to provide information on defining attributes like gender, age and their level of experience. This data was then analyzed and clustered to create the report,” the firm says.
The report shows that 60 percent of the employed in the country take home a salary of less than Sh50,000, while a further 21percent earn between Sh50,000 and Sh100,000. Eight per cent take home between Ksh101,000 and Sh105,000, while 6 percent earn between Sh151,000 and Sh250,000.
Only 3 percent of the respondents said they earned Sh251,000 to Sh400,000, while only 2 percent said they earned more.
