Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga is set to hold a virtual rally with Kenyans in the diaspora.
During the Kenyan Diaspora global virtual rally scheduled for June 26th at 6:30 pm East African Time, Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua are expected to outline their plan for Kenyans abroad if they win the August 9th presidential elections.
“The 48th County of Kenya, the Kenyans in the Diaspora, we are looking forward to engaging you tomorrow. Tune in from where ever you are,” Karua wrote on her Facebook page ahead of the virtual rally on Sunday.
The rally will be broadcasted live on KDRTV News Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter pages.
During the launch of his manifesto earlier this month, Odinga pledged to give incentives to Kenyans in the diaspora to invest in the manufacturing sector.
10,444 Kenyans living and working abroad who registered as voters and are expected to participate in the August 9th presidential election, according to a final voters’ register published by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The number represents 0.05 percent of the 22,120,458 total registered voters for the 2022 general elections.
The diaspora voters are registered in 12 countries namely; the United States, United Kingdom, Qatar, Germany, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Canada.
