Kenyan rapper Jackson Makini, known by his stage name Prezzo, has reflected on his two-decade career in the music industry, highlighting his influential role in the Kenyan hip-hop scene.

From his early success with the hit song "Mafans" to his ongoing artistic endeavours, Prezzo's journey has been marked by a distinctive showmanship and a commanding presence. In 2006, Prezzo strategically catapulted his career by releasing the single "Prezzo" across all major Kenyan TV and radio stations simultaneously. This bold marketing initiative established him as a prominent figure in the industry.

"I was in everyone's face. I understood the power of smart marketing from the early days, and the industry had no choice but to respect my moves," he remarks about the impact of his approach.
