As that August 8 elections nears, Uasin Gishu Governor aspirant, Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki says he will mount a major campaign as he hopes to unseat incumbent governor Jackson Mandago of Jubilee Party.
The billionaire business mogul resorted to seek the seat as an independent candidate after he failed to clinch the coveted Jubilee Party ticket in the recently concluded nominations where he lost to Jackson Mandago.
With just days before the official campaign window opens, the billionaire is branding six helicopters and over 100 vehicles that he will use to traverse the North Rift County in search of votes.
In the wake of Jubilee party nominations, Buzeki piloted a well-oiled campaign across the county with two helicopters and hundreds of Jubilee branded vehicles.
Buzeki expressed dissatisfaction in the manner in which he lost in the Jubilee primaries to Governor Jackson Mandago adding that the process was skewed in favor of Mandago.
Sample of helicopters and vehicles branded in the new colors of white, with red and blue traces have been spotted in Eldoret town with two Kalenjin slogans, 'Tai Ole Tai' meaning 'Forward Ever' and 'Buzeki Nebo Chego' loosely translating to 'Buzeki the milkman' related to the famous Molo Milk and Buzeki dairies he once owned before selling them.
Whether or not the expensive campaign he plans to mount will help him against Mandago who clinched the ticket of the dominant party in the region is yet to be seen, until the August 8 polls are conducted.
Mandago is likely to have an upper hand for having President Uhuru’s party ticket, while the independent tag on Buzeki will pose a great threat to sell.
