Six Reasons Why Raila Bowed Out of the Presidential Race

Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga pointed out six reasons why he bowed out of the repeat presidential race scheduled for October 26th.

In announcing his decision at a media briefing on Tuesday evening at Okoa Kenya offices in Nairobi, Raila laid blame on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and President Uhuru's Jubilee Party for hos unprecedented withdrawal.

Raila accused the electoral commission of “refusing neglecting or failing to put in place measures to correct the illegalities and irregularities pointed out by Supreme Court while overturning the August election.”

IEBC, according to him, acted in bad faith by choosing to retain the services of companies such as French IT firm Safran/OT Morpho and printer Al Ghurair which NASA say were culpable of bungling of the August election.

Additionally, the former Prime Minister and his running mate accused IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, the “coup plotter in chief” of still standing in the way of a free and fair elections.

NASA also alleged that the Jubilee has captured the IEBC using four commissioners, who are tasked to implement the party’s agenda within the electoral body.

Raila further cited the proposed amendments om electoral laws fronted by Jubilee saying; “The ill-conceived amendments to election laws are not only unconstitutional but go against international best practice that in the middle of an elections contest one cannot change the rules and put in place rules that seek to favour him.”

Lastly, the Orange Democratic Movement leader further cited the withdrawal of his bodyguards and those of Kalonzo, saying the government has made it untenable for the candidates to freely campaign without fearing for their lives.

Raila said the withdrawal from the election “is in the best interest of the country and a win-win for everyone”.

Raila is aiming for Arab Spring like revolution in Kenya. He must be stopped right away. NASA is up to no good. There are foreign forces help NASA engineer the revolution. My friends, there in nothing to celebrate here. But the only consolation is that the riots will be centered in Kisumu only. Traitors need to be lined up and executed one after another. And we know who they are.

Thank you Raila. No where in the world (except Kenya) would anyone allow such an incompetent, arrogant, and inefficient joint like IEBC be in charge of another election after the mess that they did on August 8, 2017.

More than three quarters of the recently elected members have a shady past and should not have been cleared by the IEBC to run for any public elective office!

Look at what is happening in to our nation! These newly elected leaders are using such a foul language that is not appropriate or fit in any situation anywhere on earth!

The entire IEBC should be abolished and all the current members fired!

Raila's view of democracy only applies to the national arena. Try and oppose him in Luo Nyanza at your own peril. He cannot continue speaking from both sides of his mouth. Do you see what happens to anyone propped up by Uhuru and unpopular on the ground in Kikuyuland? Try to openly defy Raila in Luo Nyanza and that will be the end of your political career.

We mourn the political death of our beloved Raila Amollo Odinga Baba. Mr. Odinga will be remebered for his tireless efforts in advocating for demonstrations and violence. His ukora was successful with a military coup together with Major Ochuka. He was successful with bargaining for nusu mkate under Mwai Kibaki. Hi Tinga party realized formation of the tribal divide in kenya. Mr raila prior to his political death was faced with huddles trying to yet again get the nusu mkate under Uhuru. This time he was successful to infiltrate the wakora four. Rest in peace baba in your own political death bed. Kenya is ready to move on and thanks for the economic sabotage and please if you truly care pay the hospital bills for the few that are in hospitals fighting for your nonsense only for you to withdraw. You are a coward and flatulence for our country.

@Mwangi you left out Raila being at one point Moi's political bride hoping to be chosen as his successor but it was NEVER to be. Moi went for the young Uhuru to carry the touch. Raila got pissed, had been used like an idiot. Kama mtu ni KIGEUGEU how the hell can you respect them.

Raila I think you should pay for all the billions spent preparing for another election. Kenya is not your toy to play around with. In it there are over 44 million people some of whom don't know where their next meal will come from.

Raila needs to take care of re-election bill. He created that mess and he should clean it up with the help of his buddies like Orengo & his beautiful flower girls. Isaac Rutto was smart to quit shitshow earlier. Some of his diehard supporters like Babu Owino will need to take Antidepressants

My personal opinion is that Jubilee should continue moving with its plans undetered. The election amendments should be done as planned. Then continue preparing the electorate for the election on oct 26th. UHURU should be elected unopposed and Then declared UHURU
as president.Good riddance to mr Rao.Your withdrawal just made it even more easier for Jubilee to win the election.

"Baba" why have you done this? We are lost without you. We thought you would take us to Canaan. Please consider bouncing back to the race. We your supporters don't think Uhuru is happy either to win so easily. You have ten million votes waiting for you on October 26 and then you take us to Canaan. Remember the embarrassment we shall go through after all those demonstrations we have been making for you. Please come back to the race and take us to Canaan. Don't leave us in tears, like sheep without a shepherd.

Quest1, ningekuwa wewe, I would have sued Raila for all those broken promises...., I will remind you lest you forgot: sex party after win and a trip to Canaan!

On a serious note, I think this guy is up to no good and I don't trust we have heard the last of him. I support Uhuru getting along as planned, lakini asitelize by trusting these snakes. I smell a rat, in fact I smelled one the moment all those guys from coast started declaring undying love to Uhuru....tacktics tupu!

Thanks Raila for doing the right thing. You did the right thing by putting yourself and Kalanzo Musyoka in the ash heap of history. We should remember this day as a historical day. The end of Odinga dynasty is now over and Western Kenya people are now free to chatter a new destiny. One family has held them hostage for a long tine. It's now easy to put the remnants of this dynasty such as Owino and Orengo where they belong.

Among many pundits prediction it was clear that Rao was going to bleed the situation all the way, then throw in a . But before we count it done, my JP remember the Gambler's advice
"You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table, There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done."-
As a citizen pedestrian in legal matters, I am quite disturbed , about nasa demands of a fresh nomination. Me thinks to twist the knife in JP's wounds, they want to introduce another candidate-the number 2 principal! and change the equation with electioneering continuing as long as the laws and intrigues of the land can allow.

Raila gets his instructions from the pit of hell. What he does not realize is that the devil is not his uncle. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy and after using Raila to cause destruction since 1982 it is now Raila's turn for destruction. By the time he realizes what working with the devil culminates in, he will be roasting in hell while Orengo, MaDvds, Melon Kasyoka and chicken eating wetash ran helter skelter.

You have to really admire Raila ... he spends long hours day and night in board rooms with lawyers scheming and executing his plans step by step ... jubilee lawyers spend their time chasing deals and tenders ... only to meet in the evening eating nyama choma and driking white cup - then they try to come up with reactionary strategies and are always caught flat footed ... Jubilee is a bunch of idiots ... move out of state house and give Raila the keys ... he has engineered a coup by using smart schemers and strategists and without firing a single shot

Sukari (not verified)     Wed, 10/11/2017 @ 05:10am

@Max de ley, he did not campaign because he knew he was playing dirty all along and stringing the country and Uhuru every other way and had no intention of completing the race. BTW, what happened to that go fund he started for NASA campaign? Pocketed the proceeds more like...akili ni nywele kila mtu ana zake! Boy!

Sukari (not verified)     Wed, 10/11/2017 @ 06:20am

@oneday@times, you were right, the 2nd candidate has been named as Ekuru Aukot! Just watched his speech and he is articulate, I will give him that! Unlike Odinga who I struggled to understand as he always seemed to have ugali stuck down his throat!

I also said, Odinga's step down was a tactic and I believe the rot goes deeper. Uhuru is surrounded by Judases. Jamani, mtoto was Kenyatta, I feel like mothering him and give him a big bear cuddle. Hope he does not take to the bottle this time but stick in, determined to the end. Smell a rat.....we are going to... I dare not say it. Nasty!
