Raila Raises Concerns over US, UK Silence on Roselyn Akombe's Revelations

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has expressed his disappointment with the US and the UK over their silence following the resignation of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyn Akombe.

Raila Odinga also said the the nations are yet to speak even after IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati owned up that the Commission could not guarantee a credible election on October 26th. “So it has come down to this: The US and the UK have not spoken since the astonishing confession by IEBC chairman Chebukati that he cannot guarantee that the election slated for 26 October will be free and fair, that his own staff do not listen to him, and that he cannot see how we can hold an election in which six million Kenyans who voted for Raila Odinga will feel disenfranchised,".

“Roselyn Akombe's comments were even more startling, including her view that most Commissioners are keen to have an election even if it is at the cost of the lives of our staff and voters,” part of the statement by Raila Odinga’s Adviser, Salim Lone read.

The former Prime Minister further faulted the African Union (AU), accusing it of taking a back seat as far as solving the current political quagmire facing Kenya.

Raila Odinga announced he had withdrawn from the presidential race citing reluctance by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to commit to conduct a free, fair and credible elections. He has insisted that there will be no election on October 26th, unless their "irreducible minimums" are met by the electoral commission.

Your outrage is misplaced babu! These guys have more pressing things at their backyards to deal with than focus on a bunch of suicidal brats!

The world is watching though, albeit with squinted eyes and baited breath at a country they used to marvel at turn into a rot ball. All engineered by self centered fat cats.

Now Raila, you want to be the President of the world? What do you want Trump to say about Akombe's lies? Foreign nations will not speak because she lacks credibility. It is a felony for a soldier to abandon duties. Akombe was our soldier and she went AWOL.

From his comment it seems it was a plan so that USA & UK could comment but it has backfired so badly. Trump does not care about Kombe Kombe neither Theresa May. They have their own problems.

Raila, When will you realize you are the one that cries wolf to everything. US, EU, UK has no time for your nonsense. They did not take to your bait. Go back to the debe and stop this back door channel for presidency. I can wait for Uhuru and Ruto to hand you over to ICC. Payback and Karma is a b--ch. Stop calling for violence and demonstration where innocent kenyans are being hurt all because of your greed. Grow up and retire to your loving wife who once said "I lost my son because of politic". its time to hang your boots baba its over. You hd a good fight since 1982 and you have costed our country a fortune from lost lives and economic sabotage.

Relax Raila, constitution is the supreme law of the land and it says elections must go on. You can still go to court later (as a voter, since you withdrew your candidature) if you are aggrieved and Maraga will rule in your favour.

Raila has been calling for IEBC to resign. He has told his supporters to protest and beat up the IEBC Officials. Now he wants U.S. and U.K to say what?
