CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro Loses Seat in President Uhuru's Shake-Up

A number of individuals in the National Police Service have been affected by President Kenyatta's major shake-up on his government.

Although Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet remains in his position, Deputy Inspector General (Administration Police), Samuel Arachi and his counterpart in charge of Kenya Police, Joel Kitili have lost their jobs. Their names have been forwarded to the Public Service Commission for redeployment.

Also not spared is Director of Criminal Investigations, Ndegwa Muhoro, who has held the position since 2010 after appointment by former President Kibaki.

Pending vetting and approval, Edward Njoroge Mbugua and Noor Gabow have been appointed as Deputy Inspector General in charge of Kenya Police and Administration of Police respectively in acting capacity.

George Kinoti Maingi succeeds Muhoro as the new Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss. Until his appointment, Kinoti has been serving as the National Police Service spokesperson.
