Wetang'ula 'Recognizes' Uhuru Kenyatta As President

National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Moses Wetang’ula has appeared to recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as President in his recent remarks.
Addressing Ford Kenya party women forum in Nairobi on Thursday, the Bungoma senator told President Kenyatta to also consider communities who didn't vote for him while making cabinet appointments.
“Uhuru and Ruto this country does not belong to you, it belongs to 45 million Kenyans and 43 communities of this country. So when you sit down, it matters not whether you got votes in Luo Nyanza or not. We want to see Luos in your Cabinet. It matters not whether you got votes in Ukambani or not, don’t pick sycophants, pick people who are respected,” said Wetang’ula.
"I want to encourage you Uhuru and Ruto to climb down from the pedestal where you are and come down to talk to fellow Kenyans about the future of this country. The problems of this country can neither be solved exclusively by Jubilee nor solved exclusively by NASA," he added.
This comes even as President Kenyatta hinted may engage the opposition in dialogue. Speaking during a press briefing after holding discussions with his South Africa counterpart Jacob Zuma on Thursday, the President hinted at engaging the opposition in order to unite Kenyans.
"We want to see political parties start to work together and partner in policy making as such partnerships will play a key role in reconnecting with people hence establishing stronger bonds," Uhuru said in South Africa.
