ODM MPs Urge Raila to End Relationship With Kalonzo, Wetang'ula, Mudavadi

A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament have urged opposition leader Raila Odinga to ditch National Super Alliance (Nasa).
Led by Nyando MP Jared Okello, the MPs said the absence of three Nasa principals namely; Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi at the swearing-in of Odinga was a scheme to isolate him.
They now want Odinga to end his relationship with the three and form a new political coalition with other leaders, in preparation for 2022 presidential elections.
“There is nothing more Raila is waiting for other than ditch these people who abandoned him at his time of need,” Okello said.
“We have asked our party leader to strengthen ODM first with a view of forging alliances with other parties,” He added.
Okello said the words and actions of the three Nasa co-principals were questionable. “He [Raila] has been with these leaders for 10 years and what they have shown and even spoken means that he is alone. So, why stick with them?” posed Okello.
The future of the opposition alliance has become increasingly shaky in recent weeks due to differences brought about by the swearing in of Odinga and sharing of key leadership positions in Parliament.
However, the four co-principals have insisted that the coalition is united and strong despite the 'small' disagreements.
"The coalition is firmly united on the fight for electoral justice, police reforms, strengthening the Judiciary, strengthening devolution and reforming the executive," they said in a joint statement at the end of last week.

NASA is long dead. The trio ( Weta, Mdvd and Kalonzo) deserted Rt. Hon Raila early Dec 2017 when he decided to take oath as 'peoples president' Odm as a member of NASA faltered in sharing oversight seats in parliamentary commitees. They shortcharged the other NASA member parties and discord started.
ODM should focus on strenthening the party to remain relevant. Kenya needs a vibrant opposition to keep the gvnmt in checks not protest and riots. Strengthen the opposition.
