Gov't Explains Why Miguna Miguna Hasn't Been Cleared to Enter Kenya

The government through Ministry of Interior has explained why Miguna Miguna has been barred from entering the country after landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Monday afternoon.
In a statement, the ministry dismissed claims by the firebrand lawyer that Immigration officials refused to clear him for reentry. The Ministry said that the self-declared National Resistance Movement general instead declined to produce the passport he traveled in to Kenya as required.
"IATA regulations requires travellers to show the documents they travelled in at the point of entry," Mwenda Njoka, the ministry's spokesperson, said on Monday evening.
Miguna’s lawyer, Cliff Ombeta earlier said the officials wanted him to surrender his Canadian passport, but he refused, causing a standoff.
"They want him to take a temporary visa so that he becomes stateless when it expires. We have advised him not to sign the papers. They are now consulting their seniors,” Mr Ombeta told journalists at the airport.
"The despots have denied me entry! They are insisting that I must enter as a foreigner on a visa. I will not and cannot agree. My advocates appear either too weak or compromised," Miguna said.
Reports indicated that the immigration officials want him to apply for a 6-month tourist Visa to allow him stay in the country, but Miguna has refused.
"There is no way I will agree to what they are asking because what it does is that it waives rights that will never be restored. I know the mischief," Miguna said.
The flight carrying the firebrand lawyer landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 2.30pm.

How did this UNGA boy,Miguna enter Kenya the first time he returned from Raila exile in Canada some three years ago? There should be no negotiations about Unga Miguna being a Kenyan. But why didn't all these people, including lawyers see the unconstitutionality of that particular law(which deprives one Kenyan birth citizenship) before the boy was ejected from Kenya?

He is getting what he deserves. He claims to be a general in a terror organization. He should be treated as such. If you are an agitator the government is not going to welcome you with open arms. I don't feel sorry for him.

Oh boy! Now call me a weakling if you must, lakini I shed a tear when I watched this. We are a people renowned for our "UTU" and if as much as I don't like Miguna's arrogance, I felt a pain only familiar when I see my own brother hurt. Painful and heartbreaking to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVHKkhrmFAQ

Lakini what constitutes to be being undocumented? Flying from Dubai is no mean feat, he must have had a passport. Question is, what happened to the passport he used to board from Dubai? He must have had an accomplice. The question that smacks most when I see this, is: Is it really worth it Miguna? His family must be hurting. Alafu Raila just got into a car and left...whilst Wanjiku I mean, Wanjigi was running his mouth, egging the authorities to arrest him. Poor Jeff Koinange happened to be in the flight to Dubai.....it's sad, sad.

Miguna needs to be of sober mind. No one can enter a country without proper documents. All he had to do is get the visa and then he can pursue his rights when inside. Sometimes we chose to learn the hard way. No need for drama.

Moguna, welcome home. Kenya is your home. You have every right to come back home.
Kenya is not the private property of Uhuru, Ruto, Kihalanngwa or Matiang'i. They have no moral or legal right to deny your entry back home. Shame on them!

Really, from Canada to US to Britain to Dubai he had to produce a travel document. Why not produce it at JKIA? That is utter provocation of the security agencies, just to raise his profile.

This Miguna guy is so arrogant!I watched a You tube video of the guy who hosted his Dallas tour and it refuted miguna's claim of being stiffed $ 20,000.The guy gave a breakdown of the expenses they paid for versus the how much the collected and it made a lot of sense. There is a humble way of talking even if the other party you dealing with are in the wrong.Being humble when talking doesn't mean you are weak & being arrogant doesn't mean you are strong.

You can say that again, brother. Some of these people misunderstand the whole concept of opposition to the government and make it a matter of bending the law to push government around.
