Former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna spent the night at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) police station on Monday.
This was after attempts by Immigration authorities and airport security officials to re-deport him back to Canada via Dubai on Monday failed after the he stood his ground and refused to board an Emirates airline flight.
A heavy contingent of police officers had forcefully placed him into a Dubai-bound flight, but Miguna disembarked the plane and insisted he will not board.
The Emirates flight was set to depart JKIA at 10:45pm, but was deliberately delayed to have Miguna bundled into it. Miguna had arrived at the Nairobi airport from Canada at about 2:30 pm, but was denied entry after refusing to surrender the passport he travelled in.
Efforts by National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga to secure his clearance and have him allowed to enter the country failed.
On Tuesday, the Immigration Department reiterated that Miguna was not a Kenyan citizen and must, therefore, fill relevant documents to reclaim his lost citizenship.
Acting Director of Immigration Services, Joseph Munywoki said the firebrand lawyer lost his Kenyan citizenship in 1998 after acquiring a Canadian one, at a time when Kenyan Constitution didn't allow dual citizenship.
“To enable Miguna regularise his citizenship status, the Department of Immigration has dispatched the requisite application forms for Miguna to fill the process,” the statement read.
Munywoki further noted that the "Peeling Back the Mask" author didn't bother to apply for dual citizenship upon the promulgation of the new Kenyan Constitution.
Efforts by his lawyers to see him at the airport on Tuesday morning were unsuccessful as security officers denied them entry.

Good work with enforcing laws.. this hooliganism would not be the same if it was in Canada or the US.. it’s about time peole realize the need maturity and grown up behaviors.. this puberty like adolescent child like autism with tantrums must stop.. miguna go back to Canada and get your act civilized and fill out the required documents just like all of us you are not special by any means and you must obey the law and respect officials who are doing their jobs
The boy is special as the opposition court has directed his release from JKIA police station.I just wonder why all these lawyers including judge Aburili have never noticed the unnormally of that particular law.All i know is that penniless Miguna is regretting his unroyality to god/muchawi/muuaji Raila.
Autism with tantrums - So insensitive to bring up Autism. It is not funny to suggest tantrums only come from Autistic people. Make your point without being crude and insentive
Throwing tantrums like a person who has never seen doors of a classroom. You will be the loser Miguna. You will threaten, boycott, dismiss, accuse, blame and then you will bow down like baba did.

Why didn't they tase him with a taser? Tase him and then handcuff this manoki. Send him back to Canada. He is not the first manoki to refused to be send back to where he came from. There ways to send him back. Akipata hiyo uchungu a taser he will not misbehave again.
He should be taken to his country's embassy to continue with his theatrics there. Who is paying for his meals since he arrived atJKIA? Tax payers? He thoght there would be street demonstrations in his support. Bure kabisa. Broke, isolated.
THis could happen to alot of us in the diaspora. A kenyan born person is always a kenyan citizen. When it happen to you there will be nobody left to help you. This is not fair and the courts have spoken. If we are a country of laws then they should obey the courts... period
@Ufisadi, It will happen to you if you copy and paste what Miguna is doing. We obey the law and have never and will never get into such kind of situation. Follow the law. period
Haiya Sasa all you contributors.... I stared at the pic of miguna fighting am sure status yake he will change to liberation/ he will now call himself mandera ... one of the iconic persons Africa have had😳 Miguna brother you can speak your mind peacefully... your bitterness and power hungry 😋 in you and popularized ujinga must be biting your ass off if you are a lawyer for sure in Canada 🇨🇦 lol... ask me how you will be outcasted by the country that welcomed you with open hands.... and now you are throwing your shithole tantrum for all to see how liberated you trying to be. By the way now that you canadian, why are you causing mayhem from the country that your mother brother relationship are. Wacha ujinga.
We are so limited to the understanding of facts about liberation courses. Miguna will not be deported out of kenya and he will ge his passport using the old application documents. He is Kenyan and will remain so. For thr just gogernment of kenya I helieve he is gallantly fighting a just war. Hevwill win and some day he will be paid for damages with your very taxes.
That could be his plan coz we know he is as broke as a church mouse. He is getting himself clobbered so that he can claim DAMAGES sometime in the future. SHAME!
Have no mercy on this Sudanese wonna be a Kenyan. Law is law and he is not above it. He has to follow the law like everybody else!!!.
TIBIM
Miguna Miguna, the new drama queen. The law is the law. Do what you are being requested to do and Kenya will let you in. Then you can fight for your rights when inside. Your stubborness and sheer stupidity is what will consume you.
