I'm Married to Retired President Kibaki, Former Othaya MP Mary Wambui Says

Former Othaya Member of Parliament Mary Wambui now says that she is married to retired President Mwai Kibaki.

Speaking during an interview with Standard Digital at her office in Lavington, Nairobi, Wambui opened up on her love life and alleged marriage to the former president.

“I met Kibaki a long time ago in Nanyuki, through his cousin who lived there. Also our paths crossed because I was a teacher and I would accompany the children to perform for the bigwigs during functions. Kibaki was a government minister then,” she said.

“He was an OK guy. He was doing things to help people. He paid school fees for many students. That impressed me. I like someone who can help strangers.”

Prodded to explain how their relationship evolved afterwards, Wambui noted: “You know how these things go."

She added: “Things happened unbidden. But, won’t delve into it. That is a story for another day.”

Asked whether her alleged marriage to Kibaki was a media creation, She said: “No, that is true. I am married. And that is all I will say about that. There are two things in life, your private life and public life. They are different. I do not want to talk about my private life. But I know I am married. Simple as that.”

In 2009, the alleged marriage between Kibaki and Ms Wambui hit media headlines which forced Kibaki to call a press briefing to clear the air on the claims. Flanked by the then First Lady, the late Lucy, Kibaki denied that he had a second wife.

“You know and I know and everybody else knows that I have only one dear wife, Lucy here... but the media keeps repeating about my having another wife or wives,” a livid Kibaki said, with a visibly irritated Lucy standing next to him.

You could have called the press conference the same day General Koguonya was peeing on himself akiwa amesimamiwa na Muthoni and told the whole country that he has one and only one wife. Anything beyond that ni kelele tupu. Kiguonya married to another kiguonya.

Speak now or forever hold your peace. Too late you did not say anything at the appropriate time. Nyamaza milele ndaima.

why is tax-money exploited while there are so many needy Kenyans dying , suffering from deceases, lack of school fees don't have a decent roof under their heads . some are squatters . them robbers have huge pensions and extras yet the poor mwananchi tax money build them pension homes Kibaki one was est. kes 500 Million in a private land. however much they steal they are not happy and all they will have is 9x3 ft of earth. their children will squander the wealth because it is stolen some it is bloody money . let us enjoy what little we have doing otherwise is a depressing ourselves what wambui has with Kibaki we are not interested we don't care we don't want to know we don't give a damn . tell us something interesting and worthwhile to read

Alas! Wambui has also joined #metoo and has thrown the non-disclosure stuff so that she can also correct some money. I thought she disowned Kibaki....now what?

If anybody out there cares for the former president, whether his kids, friends or even is healthcare providers, they should beg Wambui to move in with Kibaki. That is the best thing his money can do. Everybody knows Kenya had 2 first ladies during Kibaki presidency. Even security detail for Wambui was provided. Kibaki needs a female warmth and touch and the best candidate is Wambui and nobody else. If you care for mzee and not his money, make Wambui in at Muiga palace. You may work out about property will if that is the main concern. Help this Hero Kibaki at this time of personal need.
