Questions as Kenyan Driver is Left Behind as Diplomats Involved in Mombasa Rd Crash are Flown to Nairobi

Two of the four foreign diplomats involved in a multiple-car crash along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on Tuesday have been airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.

The two were admitted to Machakos Level 5 Hospital with serious injuries following the accident that occurred at Lukenya Bridge along the busy highway.

Nairobi News reports that the two were flown to Nairobi in a military chopper but a Kenyan driver who was driving them during the crash was left behind at the Machakos hospital.

Ms. Brenda Muntemba, the Zambian High Commissioner to Kenya and another diplomat Kama Wasa were airlifted to the city on Wednesday in a Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) helicopter.

The other two diplomats, Botswana’s ambassador to Kenya Duke Lephoko and Joseph Guttu were treated for minor injuries and discharged on Tuesday night.

It's not clear why the Kenyan driver identified as Joseph Ogutu was left behind as his boss was flown to the city.

Mutua has done a good job in Machakos hospitals. This driver is lucky he found himself in Machakos county and not some other counties with useless governors like Obando. Besides he probably decided he did not want getting stuck with a huge bill, then detained as hospitals have illegally been doing while "interest" accumulates. Total rip-off.

That is how Kenyan leaders look down on their fellow Kenyans starting with the arrogant boy in statehouse.

This guys were in critical condition and must have been in a confusion situation. Those who came to a decision to transfer them are to be blamed. That sounds bad, there are those want to believe human are not equal and there are lives which matters and others are just there to see them dwell a happy lives.

Good Question 🤔. So much happens with transfers including plane crash. Or you could be getting airlifted to your death hospital...and I know one and it is called Nairobi hospital. Don't be fooled by status.

Simple they are "Bosses". It is not like these folks were airlifted and the driver was left at the scene of accident. No he was in a Kenyan level 5 hospital! Though drivers and their bosses spend time together, mostly they live diametrically opposite lifestyles. Decent people eat, drink, sleep and live their styles depending on their checkbook. The fact that they were in the same accident does not wrap up their destiny together even after the accident. Provided they all get needed medical treatment, where one chooses to get extra care is the immaterial. How many die in highrise hospitals while others get well healed in a local hospital? This warped conspiracy-thinking fueled by a false sense of equality make most of us ignorant of basic life principles and become enslaved to entitlement mentality. To me this was an equitable treatment, and it does not necessarily mean treating everyone the same.
