Zambia's Envoy to Kenya Brenda Muntemba Passes Away in Nairobi After Mombasa Rd Crash

Zambia's High Commissioner to Kenya Brenda Muntemba-Sichilembe has passed away in Nairobi.
The envoy passed on at Nairobi Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Tuesday.
Her death comes three weeks after she was involved in a grisly road accident near Lukenya along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway on February 26th.
The 49-year-old diplomat was traveling in a convoy with her Botswana counterpart Duke Lephoko and two other staffs when her car was involved in a head-on collision with a trailer, sustaining serious injuries.
Lephoko's car, which was following from behind, rammed into Muntemba's car.
They were rushed to Machakos Level 5 hospital before being airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.
Reports indicate she underwent surgery as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.
Muntemba was a women's empowerment crusader and has authored several literary materials that focus on the empowerment of women and girls in society.
Before her appointment as Zambia's envoy to Kenya, she served as Southern Province Police Commissioner and Chief Program Officer at UNESCO in Zambia.
