Neno Evangelism Pastor James Ng’ang’a Accused of Grabbing Granny’s Land

Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism has been accused of grabbing a parcel of land belonging to an elderly woman identified as Susan Ngina Kanyali.

Ngina claims that the area where Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Neno Evangelism Centre Bulbul branch in Ngong is built is part of her land, according to Sunday Nation. In January 2016, Ngina wrote to Kajiado County Lands Board in pursuit of justice after the National Lands Commission (NLC) declared she was the rightful owner of the property.

The board then wrote to Neno Evangelism Centre ordering it to immediately stop further construction activities on the land but Ngina says the order was ignored. She blames her woes on her neighbor Joseph Murithi Mborothi, who chairs the County Lands Board and area Chief Mohammed Dida.

“One day, the chief mocked me by telling me that I will never win the battle over the piece of land against the church because I am a poor woman,” she told Sunday Nation. But the Chief denied the claims stating that the matter is already before a court.

Further to this, Ngina accuses Pastor Ng’ang’a’s church of directing the drainage system towards her iron-sheet home, making it prone to flooding during the rainy season. She also expressed fears for her life, claiming that strange people have been visiting her home.
