Uhuru Takes a Dig at Sacked Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri

President Kenyatta took a jab at former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, accusing him of underperforming.

Kenyatta fired Kiunjuri during a mini Cabinet reshuffle announced on January 14th, 2020, and replaced him with Peter Munya, who previously held the Trade docket.

Speaking in Mwea, Kirinyaga County on Saturday, Kenyatta hailed Kiunjuri’s successor, saying that a lot has been achieved in a short span after his departure.

Kenyatta appeared to mock Kiunjuri’s approach to the current locusts’ invasion in the country. A few days before his dismissal, Kiunjuri had asked Kenyans to take photos of the insects and send them to the ministry for confirmation that they were indeed locusts.

“We all felt a change after we replaced a cabinet secretary who I don’t want to mention his name. Things started working after one day and not taking pictures.”

“When we make changes, we don’t do this because we are targeting you but because of the quality of work you are delivering,” said Uhuru.

Kiunjuri thought he is too important to get out and visit the citizens who he was appointed to serve! He a country guy who was possessed with city life! He did not want to get his hands dirty

Kiunjuri is good for nothing kind of not so intelligent fella!

He is now talking of serving the Laikipia people; something he was not able to do as the CS for agriculture.

He has now formed some party to stay relevant to the Laikipia village politics of TangaTanga; while paying allegiance to DP Ruto, the future leader of the opposition politics.

Good riddance!
