Michael Nyang Joook, the South Sudanese Ambassador to Eritrea died at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Moi Avenue branch on Thursday afternoon.
The 66-year-old is said to have developed breathing difficulties before he collapsed and died, according to a report filed at Central Police Station under OB/22/102020.
KCB confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the outlet will be temporarily shut down and urged customers to use other branches or alternative banking touchpoints.
"A customer at our KCB Advantage Branch, Moi Avenue, Nairobi, collapsed and died this afternoon during a visit to the branch. The incident was reported to the police and they took over the matter. We condole and stand with the family during this difficult time."
"We encourage our customers to visit our other Advantage Centres or use alternative banking touchpoints such as cash recyclers, ATMs, cash deposit machines, Mobi, KCB M-Pesa, Vooma, and internet banking," the statement read.
A man donning full personal protective equipment (PPE) was seen fumigating the bank's entrance before Joook’s body was collected and shuttled to Lee Funeral Home on a hearse.

Koma thayu!!
Classic Hallmark symptoms of Covid 19. So sad! May he RIP.
These people have been looting SS from the time it became independent and stashing their loot in Kenyan banks. I'm not surprised he died in a kenyan bank while he is ambassador to Eritrea.
Wages of sin is death.
COVID-19.
