Ruto Pledges to Build a Software Factory in Bomet to Keep Infamous Mulot Hackers Productive

President Ruto has pledged to set up a software factory in Bomet in a bid to keep the infamous Mulot SIM swap scammers positively productive.
Ruto made the pledge after Kericho Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot requested the government to build a Sh1 billion software factory to accommodate the hackers, who haeve gained notoriety for their fraud and SIM swap schemes.
Cheruiyot noted that the hackers are the IT wizards of Kenya, East Africa, and Africa, and only comparable to those in Silicon Valley in California.
“The Silicon Savannah of Kenya, East Africa and Africa is here in Mulot town where you will find IT wizards. It is because of tough economic times that they engage in this vice.” Cheruiyot said.
“In Nairobi, we have fellows sitting in offices in suits calling themselves IT experts, but here in Bomet, guys in t-shirts and shorts can dismantle software in five seconds,” he added.
While accepting the request, the president reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing youth with opportunities to participate in constructive activities.
Ruto instructed the Bomet County Assembly and Governor Hillary Barchok to expedite the land allocation for the software factory, saying it will give the Mulot hackers the resources and assistance they need to put their abilities and skills to use.
He was speaking on Sunday at the Bomet Green Stadium in Bomet County during an interdenominational prayer service.
