President Ruto’s nominee for the position of Solicitor-General Shadrack John Mose says he is worth an estimated Sh250 million.
Appearing for vetting before the National Assembly Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs (JLAC) on Thursday, Mose said the income is from rentals, land, and shares for his law firm.
Mose, a former MP for Kitutu Masaba, took the opportunity to outline his priorities once his nomination is approved. Top on his list is to ensure staff members in the State law office are well remunerated commensurate with the heavy workloads.
He also pledged rigorous training for the officers to boost their capacity to handle complex legal issues.
“I urge this committee to assist us in securing increased budgetary allocation to be able to equip the State Law Office and retain qualified, competent officers. This will also enable us to engage more state counsels, train them locally and internationally to boost their capacity in dealing with complex issues that may arise” he stated.
“Look at the registrar of marriages section, the environment is not conducive, the office and other sections are too squeezed. These are some of the issues I want to be addressed.”
JLAC is expected to table its report before March 9th to enable the House to consider the matter within the statutory timelines.
Mose holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, as well as a Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi.
He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 29 years of experience in legal practice.
If approved, Mose will replace Kennedy Ogeto who was appointed to the position in March 2018.

We Kenyans will sing the same song over and over for generations.why are billionaires and millionaires Rutos choice for prospective Government employees ? There are thousands of new blood from universities looking for jobs yet we keep recycling these old wealth folks. This means Kenya will never attain have qualified financial planners, seasoned doctors , qualified engineers because some of these leaders are using “analog” leadership skills; we need digital leaders that can move with global time nit village time .
Prove me wrong if that is not true. Listen to the vice president and you see how his “ village and tribal” talk is taking Kenya in the wrong direction . When he opens his mouth, only one tribe comes from his mouth. Mungo zaidia Kenya !
Woe unto you in Kenya, if you aren’t worth hundreds of millions, you have no business of ever getting appointed into political seats in Kenya by the Rito govt.
