Political analyst Herman Manyora has criticized the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition, accusing them of being oblivious to the drop in international crude oil prices.
Manyora, in a post on his social media account, highlights that with the significant decrease in oil prices worldwide, the cost per litre in Kenya should decrease by more than Ksh 50. However, he feels that the Azimio camp anticipates only a Ksh 10 decrease, which he believes to be politically beneficial for President William Ruto. This comes at a time when oil prices have reached their lowest point in five months.
"Azimio is asleep. International crude oil prices have dropped so much that petrol prices in the country should fall by more than Sh.50 per litre. Azimio is waiting for the government to drop the prices by Sh.10. The president will then win big for reducing the oil prices by the miserable 10 shillings. Azimio's communications team is BURE Kabisa," Says Manyora.
OPEC, in conjunction with its allies, will be reducing its output by 2.2 million barrels per day (bpd) for the first quarter of the upcoming year, resulting in a decline in prices. However, Kenya's pump pricing adjustments usually take two months to reflect changes in crude prices, meaning that the impact of the recent drop may not be felt until next year. In the most recent review conducted in November, the Energy and Petroleum Authority (EPRA) lowered diesel and kerosene prices but kept petrol prices unchanged.
In November, the Energy and Petroleum Authority (EPRA) conducted a review resulting in a decrease in diesel and kerosene prices, while petrol prices remained steady. EPRA stated that petrol prices would remain the same for November. Currently, diesel is priced at Ksh203.47 and kerosene at Ksh203.06. In Nairobi, motorists have been paying Ksh217.36 for petrol, Ksh203.47 for diesel, and Ksh203.06 for kerosene. EPRA also released pricing information for other regions such as Mombasa, Nakuru, and Eldoret.

If there is one individual who truly loves Kenya, it is Herman Bond Manyora.
An OPEC cut in production will result in price increase, not decrease. The war in Ukraine will continue driving crude oil cost, since Russia is the world largest producer of crude oil.
Herman Manyora can highlight the issue.
He is also a man, like the other men in Azimio.
