Kalonzo vows to defeat Ruto in 2027

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has intensified his presidential campaign efforts for 2027, boldly predicting that incumbent President William Ruto will not secure a second term in office.

During a Saturday political rally in Machakos, Musyoka criticized Ruto's administration for its perceived failure to address critical national challenges, positioning himself as the alternative Kenya needs. Musyoka told his supporters that skeptics dispute their assertion that Ruto would serve only one term. He added that the political landscape has transformed and that Kenya has entered an era where every vote carries significant weight. The rally gained additional significance with the presence of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, who publicly expressed remorse for his previous support of Ruto's administration.

Waititu claims that the current government has failed to serve Kenyans effectively, pledging his support to Musyoka's presidential aspirations. Following recent realignments within the Azimio coalition, Musyoka has established strategic alliances with prominent opposition figures including DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and Jubilee's Jeremiah Kioni. This consolidation of opposition forces appears designed to present a more formidable challenge to Ruto's administration. Further strengthening Musyoka's position, Ndegwa Njiru, legal counsel to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, suggested the possibility of a political alliance during an event in Kirinyaga.
