Jacob Ocholla, the man alleging to be former President Mwai Kibaki’s biological son, claims his life is in danger.
Ocholla, 62, claimed two men riding a motorcycle trailed him as he was driving towards James Gichuru road in Nairobi on Wednesday.
He told Nation that the men first knocked his car with the motorbike, forcing him to pull off the road thinking it was an ordinary accident. His car got a minor scratch but the men did not stop.
Ocholla said he continued with his drive, only to encounter the same men while joining James Gichuru road.
“I noticed that they are the same people and that’s when I immediately took my water bottle and threw it at them. They lost balance and I saw they were armed with a pistol. I immediately drove off towards the Village Market,” Ocholla said.
“I have not eaten ever since because I am in shock. I have told the police everything and I want it to be known to Kenyans that whatever happens to me, I have already recounted everything.”
He reported the incident to Spring Valley police station on Thursday and investigations are underway.
Ocholla moved to court last year seeking official recognition as a biological son and beneficiary of Kibaki’s multi-billion-shilling estate.
In the case, he wants the court to compel Kibaki’s children Judy Kibaki, David Kagai, Jimmy Kibaki and Anthony Githinji to disclose whether his name was included in a will left behind the former president, who died in April 2022.
He also wants the court to order a sibling or paternity DNA test to establish whether the late president sired him. Alternatively, Ocholla sought orders for the exhumation of Kibaki’s body for extraction and collection of samples to be used in a DNA paternity test.
Jackson, you sound very ignorant on this case and it's better you shut up if you don't know what's going on. Also be familiar with succession law in kenya.
Who told you that I am not familiar with succession laws fool? The poor man just need a few coins to push him over closer to his grave! Why do you go represent him since you know all the thievery succession laws! Kubafu wewe! Mafi ya donkey!
@ Jackton, how do you know that'parental matters' were not squared when Kibaki was alive? Do you know what is stipulated in the last WILL kibaki left? I dont know how old you are but to blame the guy for not pushing the issue with kibaki is disingenous. You know the guy was powerless... Who would not have proudly wanted to be called the son of the president?
Stop reasoning like a damn idiot. He would not be running to court, Had the parental matters been settled.
Thanks alot. I have learned something new,and that is ," where parental matters have been settled, parties involved never go to court in future". I appreciate you sharing your knowledge @ sokoro.
Nice try! You hired these motorcycle thugs to chase you around town so you can make this fake "my life in danger" claim so you can put your kibaki saga on daily Nation. How come they didn't use the pistol on you? By the way, this is a tired cliche that every politician makes when cought screwing somebody else's wife. Plus you don't need a DNA to be a Kibaki, just show them your nose. Go ahead and eat, you're okay.
Why did you agree to be kept in secret? You are grown up man and you knew this will happen once Kibaki expires. Wambui was known to be his 2nd wife.
Ocholla "Mwai", if the Kibaki offsprings were behind your alleged attempted murder as you're saying, they have enough resources to hire foreign professionals to eliminate you without leaving any trace evidence. You can't even concoct a halfway believable lie. Come to think of it, Babu Owino's nose resembles yours and if it's fame and fortune you're looking for, make a public claim that he is your son and he is neglecting dear old daddy but be careful, he might shoot you.
Let's not bash him, Kibakis kids are enjoying what's rightfully theirs. So, if it's proved that he's Kibakis son, shouldn't he get a share? He has suffered enough knowing that Kibaki was his father, but didn't interact with him.
The arrangements made between his mother and father have affected him all these years. Truth is painful.
@ Kora Kanini, thanks for putting some sanity on this matter. Like I said in my other post, who would not have proudly liked to have been called the son of the president of Kenya? The guy had not choice in what the adults who brought him to this earth did.Like any kid, he would have loved to have a dady son relationship, and even play with his other sibling.Yes the guy is an adult now,and he is facing the issue as an adult.Would it not be nice, and 'GODLY' if the rest of the family took him in and embraced him as one of kibaki's sons?
And so Kibaki did not see it fit to leave this loafer a dime! He probably could not wipe makamasi out of his nose! He ahould die poor!
Kibaki alikaliwa chapati sana. A lesson for men with outgrower schemes to take care of all kids ten years before they get senile. Btw mali ni za watoto wote. Coz right now Kibaki is in heaven or hell without a shilling
Kibaki never owned lakes to leave this Ogolla to do some fishing. He only owned huge tracks of land and Luos are not know to be delligent farmers. So Kibaki did not find it wise to leave this guy with a land he could not properly utilize.
This guy should have squared his parental matters with Kibaki when he was alive. He is now coming out to just demand a share of the wealth. Get a job dude and earn your own damn living like any other normal man.
