Family Blocks NASA Leaders from Nkaissery's Home

Kajiado County leaders affiliated to the National Super Alliance (NASA) were driven away from attending a meeting at the rural home of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, who passed away on Saturday.
The leaders led by Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye, Kajiado Central Member of Parliament Memusi Kanchori, and former Kenya Meat Commission chairman Taraiya ole Kores were denied entry to Nkaissery’s home compound at Ilbisel, Kajiado County on Sunday.
Wiper candidate for Kajiado Woman Representative Seat Simaiyai Rakita was also not spared and was confronted as she tried to access the compound.
A member of Nkaissery’s funeral committee who spoke to the Standard said that they were under strict instructions Nkaissery’s family not to allow any Opposition leaders into the compound.
The leaders were, however, later allowed to attend a prayer session held a few meters from the CS’s compound. Nkedianye and Memusi, who arrived late, took a back seat at the tent and were not given opportunity to address mourners.
Kajiado County Commissioner Harsama Kellow, who was the master of ceremony, omitted names of the opposition leaders while acknowledging the leaders in attendance. A source said that a Maasai elder was sent to tell them that they were not wanted.
Days before Nkaissery’s death, Governor Nkedianye and Kajiado MP Memusi alleged that the Cabinet Secretary was planning to eliminate them. Nkaissery had threatened to sue the duo for defamation, after they recorded statements at the Kajiado police headquarters, saying they feared for their lives.
“I’m waiting for the full details of the report after which I will take legal action. Anytime you make an allegation, you must have evidence. By the way, do I look like someone who can eliminate my kinsmen just because of politics?” said Nkaissery.

Whose fingerprints are on Nkaissery? Who had something to gain? You remember OKOA Kenya? Did Nkaissery say “No violence in Kenya after the polls except on my dead body? Ask yourself rational question.
