Muthama: How NASA Will Stop October 26th Election

Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has revealed how the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) will stop the October 26th repeat presidential election from taking place in their strongholds.

Speaking during a burial ceremony in Makueni County on Saturday, Muthama said the opposition will mobilize its supporters to give the repeat poll a wide berth.

“From Monday we will continue with street demonstrations, we are against the October 26 elections and we will boycott elections in Ukambani, coast, Western, upper and lower North Eastern, all parts of Homan Bay, Kisumu, Nyamira among other regions,” said Muthama.

The former Kangundo MP further condemned the ruling Jubilee party for passing amendments on electoral laws.

“You cannot change the Constitution at the last minute, the Constitution is not for Uhuru alone but for over 40 million Kenyans,” the former senator stated.

He also criticized the ban on anti-IEBC demos within Central Business Districts of Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu by the government, saying that Nasa will continue with the demos until their demands are met.

“NASA is exercising its constitutional right by calling for demonstrations and picketing for necessary reforms,” said Muthama.

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo echoed Muthama's sentiments and criticised Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for ‘planning to perpetrate’ what Maanzo termed as ‘planned genocide’.

“If there is no fairness, justice then there cannot be peace, the Government is preparing to commit genocide and Matiang’i should be the first one to be charged,” warned Maanzo.
