Influential Mt Kenya Politicians allegedly Holding Meetings to Plot DP William Ruto's Downfall

A section of Mt Kenya politicians and influential businessmen are reportedly hatching a plan to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambitions.

The Star reports that the group has held a series of meetings in recent times to lay out strategies to sabotage Ruto's quest to take over from President Kenyatta.

The newspaper said the leaders mainly constitute election losers in the region, who blamed Ruto for their defeat in last year's elections. During Jubilee party primaries last year, a section of leaders accused the Deputy President of rigging them out for fear that they could be a threat to his future political ambitions.

A source close to former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo told the Star that a meeting was held at the residence of one of the members and "the resolutions of the meeting were communicated to those who did not attend. They were also informed about their roles."

A source privy to the meetings said among those involved are rich, well connected and influential politicians from the region. They have also incorporated businessman and politicians from other regions, who are opposed to Ruto ascending to power.

Some weeks ago,  Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko claimed that he had information about night meetings by Mt Kenya regions, where Ruto's downfall was being planned.

"We are aware that some politicians from Mount Kenya have been holding night meetings in Nairobi to craft plans on how to support one of their own in 2022,” Sonko said.

Has Star become the GOSSIP newspaper. This newspaper is the FAKE news that the American Ambassador, Godec was talking about. Kenyan elections have just ended and this newspaper has nothing else to talk about other than gossiping about elections that are five years away. They are starting to talk about one region to create divisions. Please, talk about development and go back to politics when elections are one year away. Do not become enemies of the country by bringing unnecessary distraction. We sure don't need it now and we will call you out when you do. Find other useful and important news!!!!

Keep trying and you will fail. We had also seen the likes of Kihika Kimani try to block Moi. Did they succeed? Losers will always be losers.
