We'll Tell Kenyans the Truth About You, Wetang'ula Warns Raila

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula has threatened to expose Opposition leader Raila Odinga if he continues to tell lies about him and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Wetang'ula, who was responding to claims by Raila that the merging of Ford-Kenya and ANC parties was a tribal affair, described Raila as ungrateful.

“The amusing thing is how Raila has sunk so low to engage in such cheap politics. You can actually see he is the only one defending the handshake which was between him and Uhuru (President Kenyatta),” Wetang'ula said.

“For Raila, it is never tribal when Luo Nyanza stands solidly behind him. But when other communities stand behind their leaders, it is tribal. What a contradiction. I had warned him that our divorce will be noisy and messy. Now, he is feeling the heat,” Wetang’ula told the Nation in his office in Nairobi.

Wetang'ula said the merger between ANC and Ford-Kenya has sent shockwaves to Raila's camp ahead of 2022 presidential contest.

“If Raila continues telling lies about us, we will tell Kenyans the truth about him."

“It is business unusual for Raila in Western. The crowds have dwindled, the enthusiasm with which he used to be welcomed is no more and he is now a man that is not only conflicted, but under siege from himself. I can see him running in 2022, and we will meet him in the field.”

The former Senate Minority leader termed the ANC-Ford Kenya merger as unstoppable.

“The will and spirit are buoyant and we are headed in the right direction. We have given ourselves one year to be one strong party,” he said.

“Raila is unhappy with our engagement between me and Musalia. It is really hurting him. Through his actions, it is true he is heading into political oblivion,” he said.
