President Uhuru, Raila Hold Four-Hour Secret Meeting at the Coast

President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga reportedly held a four-hour secret meeting at the Coast on Thursday night.

The Sunday Standard reports that the meeting between the two was held at a restaurant within Vipingo ridge, Kilifi County.

Although details of the secret session remain scanty, looming Cabinet reshuffle in the wake of spirited efforts in the war against graft is believed to be one of the main agendas of the meeting.

Matters of “national importance” and the progress made by the 14-member unity team formed after the March 9th handshake were other agendas of the meeting, sources said.

Contacted for information about the said meeting, Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe said only the president can confirm that.

“What I can say is that work is being done. The president is working behind the scenes…He doesn’t need to chest thump and issue orders for Kenyans to give him credit. This is the best way of working. Out of the public limelight but felt through the daily occurrence. Those who used to rush to him every Friday, cannot access him," said Murathe.

Sources said the President flew to Vipingo on Monday and was spotted playing golf at the Nyali Golf and Country Club up to Thursday.

“The president’s operations are difficult to tell. He keeps everything close to his chest. Some of his communications are handwritten and typed once he is done," said a State House official who declined to be mentioned.

On the other hand, Odinga reportedly flew to Mombasa on Thursday afternoon ahead of the meeting and was received by Governor Hassan Joho. Joho allegedly accompanied the Opposition leader to the meeting with President Uhuru.

The meeting is said to have started at 8pm and ended at around 11pm. Only a few aides of the two leaders were present at the hotel.

It is our hope that this meeting included policies of how foreigners are supposed to behave when they arrive in Kenya. How Kenyans are supposed to be treated in terms of discrimination and canning by the Chinese. How best to protect our local industries and jobs that are traditionally held by Kenyans. We hope this meeting is not just about politics and about who gets to join the eater and squanders our country resources. We hope these two will hold a joint conference on the Kenyan lady who was killed in the Middle East and now the treatment of Kenyans by the Chinese in their own land and the debt that is dehumanizing Kenyans. These are hot issues that urgently need to be addressed by the Dynasties. Kenyans being mistreated is part of corruption because someone is benefitting or has already benefitted that's the reason they are looking the other way as their fellow Kenyans are being dehumanized. God help Kenya!!!

How do you expect wonder boy who looks at himself as a house negro to have any sympathy for the field negro. To him his fate is tied to the Chinese and other foreigners fate and not to the fate of the poor locals who are fed PR as they provide votes and worship him.

I hope they talked about Maraga who is sitting on his hands doing nothing about prosecuting corruption cases. The Director of public prosecutions Noordin Haji seems to be doing his work but this idiot Magara can not seem to straighten his corrupt judges and to date NO case has been successfully prosecuted. Something is wrong somewhere and this CJ ni kama amekalia judiciary Kama chapati. He is now complaining of lack of funds. For what? Do you need billions to prosecute worthy cases? Mavi ya kuku.

They may hold secret meetings as much as they wish. But as long as they don’t include some very serious discussion strategies to completely eradicate corruption, it’s all nought. Corruption under UhuRuto has reached horrendous levels & the country will continue to suffer much unless we get a serious leader who’s ready to ferociously declare war on the vice. Uhuru is too chicken to do it. A toothless bull dog, he’s been barking too much and no biting
