Raila 'Disowns' Miguna Miguna

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has described deported lawyer Miguna Miguna as dishonest and deceitful.

In his first television interview since the March 9th handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila refused to be dragged to the issue of Miguna Miguna.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV's News Night program on Tuesday, Raila dismissed claims by Miguna that he abandoned him when the government tormented him over his role in the mock 'swearing-in'.

Odinga said the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general resorted to throwing insults at him even when he did his best to rescue him.

“I want you to spare me that question because you know what I tried to do for Miguna and you know how he’s treated me, the kind of things he’s said about me. Please, I don’t want to talk about Miguna!” Odinga told News Night host Hussein Mohamed.

Miguna has constantly accused Raila of failing to defend him even after he sacrificed to administer an oath on him as 'people's president' on January 30th.

Miguna also insinuated that Odinga may have supported his deportation to Canada following the unity deal with President Kenyatta

"This order could only come from the President himself and I suspect also those ones he has entered into deal with [Raila]. The reason why I say this is it is not easy for a Cabinet Minister or a bureaucrat to disobey not just one court order but 11 court orders," he asserted in the past.
