Sharon Otieno's Killers Want to Assassinate Me, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed Claims

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed claims that his life is in danger.

Taking to social media, the National Assembly Minority Whip says there is an attempt on his life by the same people who killed Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

He says in a tweet: “Sharon killers are planning to assassinate me and I got your threats … A Muslim does not fear death.”

Junet, a close ally of Opposition leader Raila Odinga, does not mention why the alleged killers are after him.

Ms Otieno was found dead in Kodero Forest, Homa Bay County with multiple stab wounds, two days after she was abducted from a hotel in Rongo town by unknown people.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado alongside his aides; Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo were arrested and charged with the murder of the 26-year-old student.

Obado was freed on bail but his co-accused remain at the Industrial Area Remand Prison as they await trial in May 2019.

Sharon was seven months pregnant with Governor Obado's child. The two were in a love relationship before she was brutally murdered.

This is a serious matter that needs to be reported to authorities and not netizens. On unrelated matter, the grand handshake has a lot of unintended consequences for instance some hardliners fell by the wayside and their stars dimmed. It is increasingly difficult for those who thrived during run-up to elections and rounds of court-election battles that followed to keep their visibility during times of relative calm and peace. A times like these, a lot of conspiracy theories will be abound-though they need not be ignored.

Junet Mohamed's claims should be taken seriously. Dr. koni Hanene who is from Siaya himself has profiled Governor Okoth Obado as a possible serial killer and has asked the government to review all missing person cases in Migori and the surrounding counties to see whether there is any linkage between them and the Governor. Dr. Koni Hanene has also asked for ballistic tests to be undertaken on all illegal guns that were recovered from his homes recently. people don't make claims for the sake of making it. The MP's claim fits Governor Obado's profile. The Governor has shown he can kill about anything that stands his way. Any ammunition within reach of this Governor should be strictly monitored or removed
