14 Riverside Attack: Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's Daughter Among Those Trapped inside Building

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale says his daughter is among those trapped inside the building attacked by terrorists on 14 Riverside Drive, in Nairobi's Westlands area.

The politician revealed this in a tweet on Tuesday evening.

“Am on the scene of the terrorist attack in Chiromo. My daughter is trapped in the building under attack!” says Khalwale.

Addressing journalists at around 6 pm, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has said the attackers are still holed up at the dusitD2.

In a separate presser at 9 pm, Boinnet has revealed that security officers have secure six of the seven floors of the attacked building.

The Kenya Red Cross has urged families searching for their loved ones to use the following hotline numbers: 0715 820219 and 1199.

Al Jazeera reports that Al-Shabaab, through their military operations spokesman has claimed responsibility for the attack.

"We are behind the attack in Nairobi. The operation is going on. We shall give details later," Abdiasis Abu Musab, Al Shabaab's military operations spokesman, told Reuters.

Completely agree, he’s just jeopardizing his daughter’s chances of surviving. Once the terrorists know that there’s a daughter of one of the people considered as big fish in the building, they know they can make even a louder statement. Please keep quiet and let security personnel do their best to save your daughter and others. Don’t hold press releases for now. We’re all praying for your daughter and everyone still trapped!

"My daughter".... encapsulates all the wrongs of society today. Me, me,me,... mine, mine mine....I, I, I and no one else matters unless I want them to mop up for me! Rotten.
