Suspect Confesses to Killing Constable Pauline Wangari on Their First Date after Meeting on Facebook

Murder suspect Joseph Ochieng’ has reportedly confessed to killing Pauline Wangari, a 24-year-old Murang’a prison warden.

Ochieng’, who was arrested in Kericho County on Thursday, has revealed what transpired on the night the constable was brutally killed.

The suspect says he met Ms. Wangari on Facebook and they have been communicating online until Monday, May 13th when they met face-to-face for the first time.

Ochieng', who claims to be an artiste, says he traveled from Nairobi that morning to meet Wangari in Murang'a for the first time.

The Kisumu-born man has told detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) that an altercation ensued between him and the deceased after she refused to take some hard drugs, which he had taken with him to Wangari's house in Kiharu.

During the argument, the man says he started strangling her before she fell down.

“Sent into panic mode, the suspect narrated how he reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest, neck, and abdomen, and, thereafter, put the knife firmly in her grip in a bid to make it look like Wangari had killed herself,” a DCI officer who sought anonymity has revealed.

In his testimony, the suspect has also revealed that they had sex before the heated quarrel.

Ochieng' is said to be the suspect who was captured on CCTV cameras entering Wangari’s house at 9 pm on Monday, and exiting at 3 am on Tuesday.

The cameras further showed the suspect carrying the deceased’s bag, her mobile phone, and a TV set.

Ochieng,24, was arrested on a roadblock at Kipsitet area in Kericho County on Thursday evening.

He was traveling to Kisumu in a Mercedes Benz alongside two other people – a man and a woman, who was the driver. Police officers used his phone signal to locate him.

Wangari was found dead on her bed on Wednesday, with her entire bedding soaked in blood.

She had been stabbed severally in the head, abdomen, and neck. A roll of bhang was also placed between her lips, and a kitchen knife clutched in her right hand.

It is very possible this savage druggie has killed before. His balls should be squeezed some more so he can continue talking.

I definitely agree with you. This is a possible serial Killer and maybe has killed dozens of people. Detectives need to carry a comprehensive investigation on him. It is very rare for Africans to kill on a first date especially if it is consequential unless the party involved is a serial killer. My worrisome is that Kenyan detectives are not well trained to recognize serial killers

@ Sukari, kabla ujaleta panga ukate mpirazangu... here me out here.I blame women more than men when it comes to problems that result from dating and here is why
1.Women nowdays give it up too soon.
2.Dont take time to know aguy.
3.Too much western influence.
4.Come we stay is no big deal anymore.
5.Women drink, and do drugs at an presented level.
And yes men have their own issues too,but the weight and danger in the relationship disproportionately fall on the women. Not to mention pregnancy. Most men will respect a woman who acts like a lady. When a woman says NO but continues to giggle and sway her derriere seductively she is sending mixed signals. And that could cause a problem with some men And that's not ladylike.I am sure you know by now that not too many men would resist sex with a very attractive beauty-married or not.If women give it easily the easier for aman but terrible for a relationship. There are exceptions ofcourse...Put it bluntly men are bruts ,men are aggressive ,men embellish their status, men rape, men are threatening. May be that's why women love the BAD BOY.But just be careful.
The matting game was orderly siku za babu zetu. Now all that has been thrown in adisarray.Sex first time two people meet is no big deal anymore ; but it should be.
Change is not always good.Lets go back to when men were galant, gentle and protector of women and family. And women were "pure" ,and carried themselves with respect. They were LADIES
We do that all these love induced killings will be bygones. My two cents.

@Maxiley..I agree the ladies give their fruit baskets all too easily. This little sis did so at her own peril. The guy was looking for an extra kick and he is clearly unwell. I however disagree with you that ladies give mixed messages when they say no and sway their mizigo's at their admirers. The mating game demands we seduce you..show what you are missing...show that leg just so and leave the rest to your imagination, whilst all the while we hold you captive. Hata chakula bwana, lazima aroma ikuvutie ama appetite will not be aroused! You can't just shove wali/sima at someone's face without warning. The chase is what makes it worthwhile. This generation of facebook/twitter are all to eager to jump into the sack! Ata Wanyama wana kimbizana, jamani!
