Police in Kakamega County have arrested a 19-year-old woman for allegedly killing a primary school girl.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate is said to have stabbed to death the Class Eight pupil for allegedly snatching her boyfriend.

Police said the two met along a path and began fighting after the Form Four girl accused the other of snatching her boyfriend.

During the fight in Lukose area, the older girl stabbed the pupil on the stomach, leading to her death.

The girl was arrested and is presently detained at Lukose police station as investigations into the incident continue.

The incident was confirmed by Kakamega County Police Commander Bernard Muli.
