Nyandarua Ranked Best Performing County by World Bank, Receives Sh254 Million

The World Bank has ranked Nyandarua as the best performing Kenyan county in the latest assessment.
The best performing county award was given to Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia during the launch of World Bank's Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP) at Laico Regency Hotel, Nairobi.
“This is proof that Nyandarua can lead. Some people belittled us thinking we shall forever be confined at the bottom. But now Nyandarua is shining, there is God," said Kimemia.
Nyandarua received Sh254 million from the World Bank for ranking the best. The funds are part of Sh4 billion being disbursed to 22 counties that are beneficiaries of KDSP program.
“This trophy is not just a glass. It is worth Sh254 million, it is our victory, the people of Nyandarua," added Kimemia.
Governor Kimemia said the victory was as a result of good leadership, prudent management of finances as well as the professional and disciplined workforce.
“I am still working with the chief officers who served the former regime. The officers who were in office when Nyandarua used to be ranked 47 out of 47 counties. All of us are pulling in the same direction. That shows you government workers are not bad. All you need is to provide leadership, it does not matter who employed them," he said.

Receipe for trouble. This will show up in a couple of years just like the trouble of having 47 counties serviced. How does a foreign government fund counties directly without going through the central government?
Who will be responsible when these counties sign shady agreements? Whose resources are these foreign governments going to come after when those loans cannot be repaid?
Are we now divided by foreign governments into 47 countries that each makes it's own decision? and especially each county making with any foreign government?
Who approved the path for foreign governments to approach counties directly without approval from central government?
This is the same old colonial mentality where the foreign governments signed agreements with different chiefs and were able to conquer our people.
Nothing changes on the side of the colonizers, its us who have to change.
The mistake is failure to learn our own history and that of slavery of our called "black brothers" and their masters in the western countries.
As the Western gives praise to individual counties, we must know we have fallen into a new trap and deeper into their hole.

It's about that time. May the most high take care of business!!

History repeating itself before our own eyes.
During colonialism, Chiefs (current day governors) sold their country to the British. The office of the chief was not created to protect the African, but to see the establishment and germination of colonialism in Africa. Chiefs who collaborated with European colonialists were tyrants, self-seekers, conservatives, swindlers and terrorists of their own people.
The chief was the single most important link between his employers- the colonizers and his kith and kin- the colonized.
These chiefs were considered traitors by their own people.
Examples of these chiefs include but not limited to:
Chief Hinga- Njeri
Chief Waruhiu- Kiambu
Chief Luka Kahangara (and the Lari massacre).
Chief Waruhiu was considered by the British loyal, obedient, dependable, responsible, efficient and a tower of strength.
He believed white superiors' authority was God given and to disobey him was to disobey God himself.
After all said and done we know what happened to the traitors.
Let our governors learn as they receive praise from foreigners and condemnation from those that they govern.
Sometimes a man has to fight for what is already his.
