Late Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s Body Cremated in Private Ceremony

The remains of the late Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth have been cremated in a private ceremony held in Nairobi.

Okoth’s body was burnt at Kariokor Crematorium in Nairobi on Saturday morning despite a section of family members opposing the ritual.

Okoth’s mother, Angelina insisted that her son should be buried at her rural home at Kabondo Kasipul, Homa Bay County and is reported to have skipped the cremation ceremony that was held early Saturday morning.

“This is to let you know that Hon. Okoth’s remains have been cremated this morning in accordance with his wishes and in the presence of his family. I thank all of you for the support and patience in the course of this journey. May he Rest in peace,” ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said in a statement to newsrooms.

The 41-year-old politician succumbed to colorectal cancer while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital on July 26th.
