Green Card Lottery Registration Period Ends Tomorrow - Tuesday, November 5th at 12pm EST

The registration period for the US Diversity Visa Program for fiscal year 2021 (DV-2021), commonly known as the Green Card Lottery, ends tomorrow, November 5th, 2019 at 12pm EST.

The registration period started on October 2nd.

The State Department, which runs the program, says no entries will be accepted after the deadline, and all entries must be submitted online at dvlottery.state.gov. The Department also advises those planning to submit entries to not wait until the last minute to do so, as the website may get slowed by high traffic.

The Diversity Visa program makes 50,000 permanent resident visas available to nationalities of countries with low immigration rates to the United States over the last five years.

Each year, millions of people from around the world participate in the lottery. Last year alone, 14 million people submitted entries.
