Police Nab Kenyan Hotelman Videotaped Whipping Disabled Woman

Police in Kangundo, Machakos County have arrested a Kenyan man who was videotaped whipping a disabled woman.

The suspect, believed to be a hotel worker, was arrested on Sunday evening, hours after the video recording went viral on social media sparking outrage from online users, according to Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua.

“The young man has been arrested will be arraigned in court. As a society, we should not just sit and watch the abuse of others among us,” Governor Mutua said through Twitter.

In the 30-second video clip, the man wearing an orange t-shirt and a black pair of trousers is seen repeatedly whipping the helpless lady, who is seated on the floor.

He then drags the woman towards the restaurant’s exit. This happens as other hotel workers watch from a distance.

The incident is said to have happened at In and Out Restaurant in Kangundo, according to reports. What made the man whip the woman remains unclear.

Reports suggest the woman was taken to the hospital after the beating and was treated and discharged but she is yet to be traced.
