United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus.
Johnson made the announcement through a video posted on his official Twitter page on Friday, saying he has gone into self-quarantine.
"Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government's response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this…" he tweeted.
His office said Johnson was tested on the advice of his chief medical officer Prof. Chris Whitty after exhibiting mild symptoms on Thursday.
"The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive," the statement said.
"In keeping with the guidance, the Prime Minister is self-isolating in Downing Street. He is continuing to lead the government's response to coronavirus."
This comes two days after Prince Charles, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and the heir apparent to the British throne, was diagnosed with Covid-19. The 79-year-old took a test after showing mild symptoms on Sunday.
As of Friday, the UK had confirmed 11,658 cases of the highly contagious virus and 578 deaths.

What good does it do you to wish these people ill? The other day you said the same about Prince Charles.
You are inviting bad energy back into your life. What you reap, you will (eventually) sow. Always!!!!
