Jubilee Vice-Chair David Murathe to be Quizzed over Covid-19 Funds' Scandal

Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe is among persons who are set to be questioned over the alleged Covid-19 funds’ scandal at Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa).

Murathe was invited to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) headquarters in Nairobi on Friday to record a statement as a person of interest in the alleged tender scam, according to Citizen Digital.

Also to be grilled as a person of interest is Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s wife Priscilla Murungi.

Murathe has been linked to Kilig Limited, a company that was irregularly awarded a Sh4 billion contract by Kemsa to supply 450,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at an inflated price of Sh9,000 each.

In an interview this week, Murathe admitted that Willbroad Gatei Gachoka, one of the directors of Kilig Limited, is his childhood friend and business partner but denied involvement in the lucrative tender awarded to the company.

“We are consultants. We do a lot of consultancy services. We have consulted for various international companies. We are setting up a lot of businesses in the free and special economic zones and we also consult for construction companies in the country.”

“He is my friend. He is my partner. I have known him since childhood. We are family friends from childhood. I partner with William on a lot of issues but I have not partnered with him on this one (Kemsa tender),” Murathe said on Citizen TV.

On the other hand, Ms. Murungi has been connected to Caperina Enterprises Limited, a company that allegedly supplied 10,000 boxes of surgical masks to Kemsa and was paid Sh45 million.

Murathe you are untouchable now eating from the same plate with Mūnene. Karma will visit you one day along with your friends just like it will visit the one who stole dam money and tear gassed school children over stolen land.
How disgusting can one be to steal money meant for PPE to protect our health care workers lives?
Another one would rather give money to a church in Kiambu for votes bypassing starving kids in Baringo.

Kinoti should also give the conclusions of poisonous food investigations to Gikambura residents by 80 year old Raila chief campaigner,Maina Kamanda.Only a revolution will stop looting by these elite thugs. But there is problem of some foolish Kenyans who think and believe "corruption fighters"-Uhuru and Raila can loot anything and/or kill anybody.

Murage is a personal friend of president Uhuru. He is a who is who both in the country and in Jubilee-the ruling party. Ethic and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) is wasting its time because there is nothing-absolutely nothing it can do to hold Murage and the gang accountable. EACC already knows this and the only reason they're conducting this public charade is to hoodwink the public into believing that they're doing their job. Note even the soft language they use; Murage is not summoned for questioning-the way they do with regular mwananchi; he is rather invited for questioning; one can decline an invitation; you get the picture? There is no present cure for the corruption and the level of greed and theft of public money in our country by: our leaders, elites, judges, prosecutors and rank n file of the civil service. Only a mass action on a gland scale-only a revolution can save us now. Remember the fox in the story? Once he tastes the first chicken, the only way to stop him, is to shoot him.

COVID-19 get all the people who stole your money because no justice will ever been done to them in Kenya. Corona do the best revenge.
