Questions as Former MP's Son Dies Mysteriously at Prayer Mountain During Spiritual Retreat

A family from Nyandarua is seeking answers following the death of their kin in unclear circumstances at a prayer centre in Nakuru County.

26-year-old Geoffrey Macharia Kimemia was found dead on August 13th in a hilly area at Heaven's Gate Prayer Mountain in Elementaita, where he had accompanied his mother for a prayer healing two days earlier.

Results of an autopsy conducted at Gilgil Sub-County Hospital on Sunday were inconclusive but further investigations into his death are ongoing.

The family suspects he may have been deprived of food and died of starvation as his bowels were empty. They are accusing the prayer center of negligence and are contemplating taking legal action against it. The center could not be reached for comment on the matter.

Macharia was an intern at Nyandarua County Government, working in the Department of Finance and Economic Development and attached to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries. He was engaged by the county government in its internship program on April 6th, 2021.

In a condolence message to the family, Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia eulogized Macharia as a “young, bright and promising economist.”

“His death is an immense blow to his family and to all of us at the County Government and all those who knew him. We have lost a colleague, friend, and dedicated staff,” Governor Kimemia said.

Macharia is the son of the late Kinangop MP and former assistant minister for local government Josiah Munyua Kimemia. He has relatives in the US and the UK, including Joyce Kimemia of Atlanta (sister), Judy Kimemia of New Jersey (sister), Alice Kimemia of Kansas City (sister), Jane Kimemia of Los Angeles (sister), Lucy Kimemia of Los Angeles (sister), Geoffrey Kimemia of Hull, the UK (brother), Moses Kimemia of Houston (uncle), and Peter Kimemia of Dallas (uncle).

Sorry Meru guy! We all know you don’t know because you chew too much Miraaaaa…., and again attending school was optional for you because you had to look after goats for milk!

No wonder you are asking a silly question! Don’t you have a mother? Turn to your left hand side and ask your mother/her!

What happens if a diabetic doesn't eat for 2 days?
If you don't eat, your blood sugar levels are lower and medication may drop them even more, which can lead to hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia can cause you to feel shaky, pass out...
This was a question asked in the Medical journal.I hope it settles the hostility between you two.
Let's not act like experts here.Sure, its good to ask relevant and pertinent questions, but not necessary to go beyond what is given in the article, which is scanty information.
Let's hold our fire and hope the experts will get to the bottom of what killed this young bright young man.

@auntie - I have already told @maxiley that one of these fine days wewe utamuchapa kabisa!

Please tell this little boy to drop the rumors trousers and bring you a nice Cyprus switch to cane his bare buttocks!

The boy talks too much and only @auntie can handle him! Or just slap him across the mouth with a 2 x 4 piece of wood to give him adequate discipline! Thank you Auntie for stepping up!

@aunt Jemima, I don't think Maxiley said he was diabetic. I may be wrong but I thought he was trying to dilute the tensions between the two commentators. He simply educated them on how a diabetic would react if they failed to nourish for two days. He went as far as to caution them against assumptions. That was my take...or did I miss something?

That is good question Kithoi. A 26 years old dies of starvation in two days while his 60 yr old mother doesn't and supposedly both of them were fasting. It does not make any sense!!!!!!. There is more to the story than we are being told. I believe in what @guest said on romoured vampire activities taking place in what locals call devil shrine. To me it appears this young man was sacrificed and the shrine and the mother knows more than what they are saying!!!. The fact that Girgiri DCI and pathologist are quoted by newspapers to have complained of unusually high number of people dying in the shrine under mysterious circumstances gives weight to what locals say about the shrine. Demonic shrines have existed in the history of mankind and if what the locals allege is true then it would fall under the pattern of what happens in emerging countries Kenya being one. Demonic cults are products of rich developed countries that seeks to expand their influence beyond their borders. Girigiri shrine is a product of a foreign cult and this can be backed by the shear size of the cult shrine. Google it to see for yourself. It's larger and beautiful than any learning institution in Kenya including University of Nairobi. There is nothing Kenyan about it. It could be that the head of the cult demanded blood of a young inspiring Kenyan and the young man fit the profile. He is said have to have graduated from a university recently and was an inspiring pilot. Sadly many other young Kenyans will be sacrificed unless Kenyan government steps in which I doubt it will

I think this story is linked to story carried by daily nation newspaper and NTV. If it's the same story the young man was sacrificed at that center for demonic purpose. According to the story DCI and other law agencies in Gilgil are investigating the matter. Primary investigation appear to suggest the mother and Heaven's Gate Prayer Center are in cohort and knows more about the murder than they are leading public. The center has been accused before of engaging in demonic scacrifices and is known to prey on venerable widowers for sourching.

R.I.P Robert !!!. To the locals in Girigiri Heaven's gate shrine is known as Devil's shrine or Devils Gate because of the mysterious cult activities that takes place in the compound. It is romoured that demonic sacrifices is norm like the case of a lawyer's wife who died two weeks ago in the same shrine but upon autopsy she had no blood in her system leading her family members to suspect some kind of vampire activities

JustMe (not verified)     Thu, 08/19/2021 @ 10:45am

The center has no responsibility as to how one eats or not. The mother who had accompanied this adult man might have an idea...though she too is not responsible for how the young man eats or not. Kama mtu anakaanga hata mwezi bila food... Tell us another...take time and eliminate causes slowly.

Covid spreader event! These preachers must be retrained because they are so ignorant about Covid and it’s revenging effects…

Wario (not verified)     Thu, 08/19/2021 @ 12:48pm

When people who have no medical training tell you to fast like Jesus did for 40 days in the desert, please get your senses back and run! The ignorance that is out there in these healing places in the entire world is just like a Colt!

Something was wrong with this young man and all the reasons the mother took him there to be prayed!! It should never come to this kind of stuff!

There is nothing wrong in fasting. If you are diabetic or have a condition that does not allow you to fast, then you don't do it. There is a difference between being a cult and straight Christian. Don't blame all churches or all Christians because someone has done something wrong in the church or as a Christian

@tuheshimiane - read what I said first before you get all wired up with your religiosity and start verbally dhiarrearing!

At no time I told you not to “fast” or talked about your Christian faith! That is your prelogative! Go take all your clothes off, fast and have a good time!

What I said is in easily readable prints for a layman to understand; very easily! Go back there and help yourself again (knock yourself to it again)!

. And while at it, please remember to say sorry since you are out here fighting for yourself and not Jesus!

Let me fix that for you:
A religion is an old cult. A cult is a new religious movement.
The difference between a cult and a religion is simply the passage of time. Christianity was considered a cult early on and if you go by the textbook definition, it still is. Hope this clears your confusion.

In these difficult Covid times, well informed family members must step in to help enlighten others who are easily influenced by the outside forces that do not know any better!

Fasting can be done but it must be properly supervised by a medical doctor or something!

These faith based places are killing innocent people by offering the wrong remedies to certain medical issues which they are not qualified to partake in!

Look at the current case of Pastor Irungu in London lying to people in the church over some COVID 19 conjured oil efficacy and even telling the faithfuls that taking that oil will heal Covid!

My heart goes to the family of the late Macharia! RIP!

A cult no matter the dictionary seems to follow the exact definition of a religion, the only difference being longevity and who's in and who's out and which one is preferred by the establishment.
Cult - a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.

The primary culprit is Bitis Arietans which proliferate in that area, a single Arietans can give birth to 70 live young..Other suspects include Dendroaspis Polylepis and 4 different species of the Genus Naja family.

Yes, someone can die after one day, 2 days, etc. depending on their health situation. A doctor conversant with this field cn explain to you.
BTW, this is a cult that brainwashed their followers in the USA in 1997 to a point where they committed mass suicides over three day. The cult is now preying on developing countries.
