Mvita MP Abdullswamad Nassir is mourning the death of four of his employees who perished in a grisly road accident in Lamu.
The four were heading to Lamu County for official duties when the vehicle they were traveling in rolled multiple times following a wheel burst along the Lamu-Witu-Garsen road at around 5.30 pm on Saturday.
“I have lost four people from my office, we are making plans to travel to Mombasa,” MP Abdullswamad said.
Confirming the incident, Lamu County Commissioner Irungu Macharia said the deceased were part of the team that was preparing for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s meeting in Lamu on Sunday.
The four were identified as Ali Omar Naaman, Athuman Mohammad, Carol Mueni, and Elson Musyoka.
Musyoka, who was driving the ill-fated car, died at the scene while three died while being rushed to Mpeketoni Sub County Hospital.
