Kalonzo, Jimmy Kibaki Agree to Work Together Ahead of the August Elections

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and The New Democrats (TND) deputy party leader Jimmy Kibaki have agreed to work together ahead of the August 9th elections.

The two leaders held a meeting in Karen, Nairobi on Wednesday where they discussed several matters, among them strengthening their personal and political working relationship ahead of the upcoming elections.

"Earlier today, I met with Jimmy Kibaki and committed to strengthening our already strong personal and political relationship," Kalonzo said in a statement.

"We also discussed the forthcoming August General Election 2022. We committed to working together and ensuring that Kenya remains stable, peaceful and prosperous."

On his part, Kibaki expressed his admiration for Kalonzo's moderate political style and strong Christian-based values, as well as the sincere support he offered retired President Mwai Kibaki as his Vice-President. Jimmy is the son of Kibaki.

Musyoka and Kibaki called upon their supporters to maintain peace during the ongoing electioneering period.

Earlier this month, Kalonzo dropped his presidential bid in favor of Raila Odinga, who is the Azimio La Umoja coalition’s presidential flagbearer in the August elections.

Kalonzo is a pest always looking for a host for survival. He went fishing for Kibaki's son for relevance.

I understand every Kenyan has a right to their own views, but don't impose them to the public.

I think it is only natural that Jimmy follows the footsteps of his father in public life. I sincerely hope he won't display his mother's temper by beating up journalists and social media bloggers.
