Nairobi Governor Race: Senator Sakaja Says Polycarp Igathe is a State House and Deep State Project

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has reacted to businessman Polycarp Igathe’s entry into the city gubernatorial race.

Sakaja, who is eyeing the Nairobi governor’s seat on a UDA ticket, poured cold water on Igathe’s candidature, branding the former Equity Group Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) as a project of State House and the Deep State.

“I am not a sample to the contemptuous the way they have been on the other side by imposing a candidate. There is the people's project, and there's a project of the deep state and state house," said Sakaja.

He exuded confidence that he will trounce Igathe, who was on Friday unveiled as the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition’s candidate for the Nairobi governor race. Sakaja noted that his impeccable track record will propel him to City Hall.

"I'm confident that we will make the right choice. I don't take it for granted. Our work is to go and convince them as to why they need to choose us for the position of governor of Nairobi," he said.

He added: “Our team has the energy the vision, the capacity, the resilience to transform Nairobi and we are asking the people of Nairobi to walk with us. We want a city of order, a city of dignity that people can live with dignity and dignified lives and we can do it.”

Igathe joined politics in 2017 as the running mate of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko but he resigned as Nairobi deputy governor five months after their election, citing the failure to earn the trust of Sonko.

If what Igathe said about his decision to resign as deputy governor is true, then he is the right man for governor. He said that Sonko did not involve him when making decisions, therefore he felt that he was being paid for doing nothing. Worse, decisions that were not his would be blamed on him. He is the kind of scrupulous guy that Nairobi needs.

We will see in august 2022 if Nairobians can elect an honest man Igathe. Sakaja has been corrupted by receiving Ruto’s stolen money. Nairobi can’t afford another thief imposed on them by WSR. Kenyans must learn to reject thieves who pretend to be leaders.

Sakaja, talk policy, talk problems and solutions, talk corruption in the capital and specific ways in which you're going to tackle them. Show Nairobians a specific plan and road map, how to get there. how to get jobs, to create jobs. How to provide health care for all. Stop these nonsense baby talk: "He is a project of deep state"; You're also a project of UDA. Saying, we want a city of order, city of dignity, that people can live with dignity and dignified lives- those are hollow words, just rhetorical, don't mean anything at all!

Sakaja is beginning to feel the heat. He has always been with the deep state but now he feel rejected. When is Sakaja gonna realize joining UDAku the party of thieves made him a thief too?

Sakaja must know he will lose because he has started insulting others, something he never did before. You can’t go to bed with thieves abs then expect the citizens to vote for you sakaja.

This senator Sakaja was imposed on the people of Nairobi county by ruto it now he has no shame to call others imposed candidates. I hope Sakaja loses and work for Ruto in surgoi’s chicken farm.

Sakaja got off my shoes when he joined Ruto camp. I was betting on him until then. You can't join a rotten club then you tell us how you gonna deliver a good leadership. N

I got off his horse immediately he joined the thieves of UDAku. That’s when I realized the name Sakaja was as corrupt as Ruto himself. He won’t be getting my vote this time around. We are just looking at another sponsored Sonko to hose the people of Nairobi. He needs to head on to the lakeside to fish omena.

A man’s worth is the people he hangs around. Sakaja’s political capital went to hell the day he showed us that corruption, graft and theft is a way of life in his thinking. He has lost all his potential value for joining hands with Ruto.,
