Ruto Says Kenya Kwanza Leaders to Get Table Etiquette Training

President Ruto has said that all Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders will undergo training on table manners to equip them with the right behavioral skills.

Speaking on Friday when he opened the alliance’s Parliamentary Group retreat in Naivasha, Ruto termed the table manners of some Kenya Kwanza leaders during meetings as “embarrassing.”

The president intimated that some of the leaders within the outfit do not even know how to handle spoons and forks, hence the need to get training on such skills.

“Tomorrow we’re going to have a session to show you a bit of etiquette, we want to show you what to do because sometimes we get embarrassed when senior people don’t even know how to hold a spoon or a fork,” he said, albeit on a light note.

“So tomorrow we’ll take time because we want to mentor everybody. You know some people take things for granted.”

Ruto, who assumed office this week, further urged senior Kenya Kwanza leaders to use the retreat that is set to run through the weekend to mentor the newcomers as they kick off their duties in public service.

“I want to ask the seniors who are here, let us take time to mentor the newcomers. Let us make it our responsibility. Don’t monolize anybody, don’t harass the younger ones and please be useful; show them how CDF and committees work, don’t assume people know how to do stuff,” he said.

They should start with those who eat with their mouth open and those who fold ugali in their hands and use it scoop stew, with ugali acting as a spoon.

As I read that all I could hear in my head was Samuel L Jackson saying "now ain't that some bullshit?". When mjamaa was pretending to be normal raia by eating in a kiosk, did he request uma na kisu from the proprietor? On 2nd thought, if memory serves Gideon knows which spoon, fork and wine glass to use and right now he has time. He could be the new cabinet master of etiquette.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 signs of dictatorship. Ruto like most Kenyans grew up eating from the same plate as a couple other people with his bare hands something still practiced widely around the country. So even if someone decides to eat with his toes inamhusu nini? Bei ya unga ulinashuka lini? Fertilizer subsidies zitafika lini? Who is in your cabinet boss, relieve those who have already tendered their resignation. Those are what you need to focus on. Nilisikia wakale wakisema wao washavuna mahindi so they aren't really facing some pertinent issues the rest of the country is facing... Mifuko imejaa pesa! Is this why Ruto is dragging his feet?

You are right. The true colors of a seasoned dictator can not wait to get on duty even less than a week after been sworn in as the president of Kenya.
Just wash your hands with a soap before eating. Let the British continue with their hackneyed tradition of using a fork even to scoop some rice on the fork.

Have them watch a video on etiquettes. Its cheaper and effective. This is an expense that tax payers should not pay for the manner-less leaders.Let them pay from their deep pockets. Wow,and they wanted state of the art cafeteria!
See what happens when you impose a foreign way of life on to the natives? They get clumsy.

The eating starts now! Voters sent them to work and impress the voter with their performance, not their ability to hold them spoons.

Lol, monolize? Table manners. Kenyans are used to eat ugali with their hands, so now they will be eating with a folk? See how long this last!!!

Out of the 32 minute speech, the author only picked this 30 sec piece of speech!!! This is what ails our media… sensational reporting is all they are after.

It's because of the absurdity of the suggestion. Nī uragia cūcū kana maitū akūhe kahiū na hūma nīgetha ūrīe mataha? If you give a 2 hour speech and say something patently idiotic, that is what I'll take away.

They can always use their hands, so we need to waste money to appease the white world version of etiquette?

I pity our leaders back at home.

Just be yourself, an important lesson learnt when you travel globally. \
