Uhuru’s Niece Nana Gecaga Leaves KICC After a Seven-Year Tenure as CEO

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece Nana Gecaga has left the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) after seven years at the helm.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza on Tuesday joined KICC staff members in a party to bid Gecaga farewell as she completes her tour of duty as the CEO of KICC. Malonza lauded Gecaga for her service and wished her well in her future endeavors.

Gecaga took over as KICC CEO in January 2017 following her appointment by then Tourism and Wildlife CS Najib Balala. Before her appointment, she served in the position in an acting capacity for eight months.

During her tenure, the 44-year-old led the corporation in the successful execution of high-profile international conferences like the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), and The 2nd High-Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (HLM2).

She was responsible for leading the management team in developing and implementing KICC's strategic plan dubbed the 'National Meetings, Incentive Travel, and Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) Strategy'.

Gecaga previously worked with international companies on various projects aimed at marketing Kenya globally as the preferred tourist destination. She has previously worked as the Head of Marketing at KICC.

She is also credited with being partly responsible for Kenya's successful bid to host the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards.

Gecaga holds a degree in Business Administration from London's American Intercontinental University and boasts a wealth of experience in public relations and marketing.

Well, she is a cutie!! She will find another job. She can also be my significant other so we can start a good life together. That is in case another fish in the deep seas does not land on my laps before she does… several choices exist out there nowadays!
