Details About Raila Odinga's 'Son' Gideon Gachuki

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga accompanied Gideon Gachuki down the aisle in Githunguri, Kiambu County on Saturday.

Raila and Ida Odinga made a special appearance at the wedding, joining Gachuki as he walked down the aisle. Before the ceremony, Mama Ida was spotted in the company of the groomsmen as they set out to bring the bride, Ann Ng'endo. Gachuki first caught the public's eye in 2021 when he extended an invitation to Raila for his 22nd birthday celebration via a text message.

After receiving no response to his initial email, Gachuki decided to take a gamble and send a text message instead. Surprisingly, Raila replied and even confirmed his attendance. Gachuki couldn't contain his excitement when recounting the phone call with Raila which he graciously accepted the invitation. The extraordinary birthday gift from Raila was truly unexpected and fulfilled a long-held dream of Gachuki's.

"Surprisingly he called and I invited him to my birthday and he confirmed that he would attend. It came as a surprise to me because I was not sure that Raila would do that during my birthday, I was surprised and that moment became a dream come true." Gachuki said in an interview.

At that time, Gachuki was a third-year student at the Kenya Institute of Management taking Project Management. To his astonishment, Raila presented him with a dairy cow to commemorate his 22nd birthday. This unexpected and generous gesture instantly propelled him into the political spotlight, not only within his immediate community but also across the entire nation.
