National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga has called on his supporters to abstain from sex on the eve of the August 8 polls.

Speaking during the launch of the opposition coalition’s campaigns in Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega on Saturday, the former Prime Minister told thousands of his supporters at the stadium to instead prepare “for war”.

“We have the numbers, the real work of voting and protecting the vote will start at 4am. Dear mothers and sisters, on that night please tell your husbands’ we will celebrate after winning the elections,” Odinga said to the amusement of the crowd.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader named high cost of living, corruption, unemployment and tribalism as the main reasons why the Jubilee administration and President Uhuru Kenyatta should be sent home.

On his part, NASA presidential running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka lashed out at Jubilee Government for embarrassing the opposition leader during the Madaraka Day celebrations on Thursday in Nyeri County.

The August 8 presidential race has been termed as one of the hotly contested political fixtures in Kenyan history, as an united opposition will be facing a strong incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta, who has a huge financial muscle and the support of government machinery.
