Kenyans in the diaspora facilitated a helicopter ride for Garissa Governor Ali Karane around the state of Minnesota during his benchmarking tour to the United States.
The Governor said the chopper ride helped him witness firsthand the architectural masterpieces and technology used in developing the infrastructure of Minneapolis city among others.
The Jubilee Governor said he intends to use the ideas gotten during the benchmarking tour to improve infrastructure in Garissa to world class level.
"Following back to back meetings with community members and leaders of the diaspora population in Minnesota, I was taken on a chopper ride," Korane said in a tweet.
"That took me over Minneapolis city to help me witness firsthand the architectural masterpieces and technology employed in developing the infrastructure of the expansive city including the roads, bridges, dykes and tunnels that can be replicated in our flood prone Garissa town," he added.
Korane also delivered a speech at the biennial Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit in Washington, DC last week. He was accompanied by his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

Blame it on Kenyan Minnesotans (or ate they Mesopotamians?)
Bench marking ,extravagant travel, huge salaries /allowances by kenyans elected officials have costed billions courtesy tax payers money instead of development and provision of basic support like health etc .....katiba need overhaul.
10 gavanas...150mps....15mca per county.....combine commisions.
Cut salaries to maximun 200k ....insurance is not paid by taxpayer.....thus mps mcas can better health..
Land has been grabbed even for skuls, dispensaries ,football fields, industries, sewage treatment works etc......now gavana has to buy from thieves to develop counties...
Historical injustice where land previously owned by colonialists was taken by few individuals....yet was owned by community when forcefully taken by mzungus......
Hapa kenya ni system ya majambazi.....
why go all way to uncle sam to sample what slaves did for free.
Go to dxb or las vegas where temperatures are high.......did he see donkeys ferrying water like in gsa yet river tana passes there and take water to indian ocean.....
Yse river tana for food production/value addition first b4 building concretes .....
Those having hope that the few and extravagant elected officials from up to down will change kenya are damn wrong..........ask that gavana visiting there how much is 100ft and 100ft in Gsa town verses teacher, police etc salaries.
What we need is industrialization with industries based on our resource like ngamia meat/milk/skin processing followed by one making sh*t we buy from overseas..........building city like usa while millions are jobless and under threat due to insecurity ,hunger, diseases etc is not a vision......
I need one too..hopefully it helps Mheshimiwa.
Somalians.Me and Trump don't like these ones.
Somalis in Minnesota did this wacha uongo. Trump has become hot and heavy, new homes have to be sought with helicopter rides. When you add up missing stickers and passports and a giddy governor who is impressed with the air rides versus camel rides you get the final answer.
A joy ride is not bench-marking tour. Watu si mafala hivyo
Yes, dams, dykes, and bridges could be duplicated in Garisa using the same technology. That would be great wont it. Now tell us how you could go about doing it?
I think that was a joy ride. There are better ways to analyze ,and gather information to build all those technological masterpieces he is talking about.Ofcourse he wont admit that it was a Joy ride because of its negative connotation .
Lmao
Nonsense....
How do you witness firsthand architectural masterpieces and tehnolology from the air? Aaai!
